We are converting a two-storey home in Castle Hill, New South Wales, into a five-bedroom Supported Independent Living house. Rather than describe it on paper, we have built the house in 3D so you can turn it around, take the roof off, and look at exactly what changes room by room.
The house, before & after SIL.
An interactive model of a real two-storey home in Castle Hill — what it looks like today, and how we adapt it so five participants and one overnight support worker can live well under one roof. Click any room for its dimensions and spec, or walk through the house yourself.

Indicative model. The rooms, dimensions and compliance notes shown here are a design-intent study reconstructed from the supplied Eden Brae Homes floor plans, and benchmarked against AS 1428.1 and the SDA High Physical Support design standard. It is not a measured survey and not a certified accessibility audit — both are completed before any works start, and we share the full report with families and support coordinators on request.
Why this site
Ground-floor access already exists
A bedroom, an accessible wet-room and a walk-in robe sit on the ground floor, so a participant with high physical support needs never has to use the stairs. A through-floor lift connects the two levels, with the existing stair kept as fire-isolated secondary egress.
How we measure
SDA High Physical Support
Bedrooms and wet-rooms are set out to the provisions we build to: 1500 mm turning circles, 950 mm clear doorways, full-room ceiling-hoist coverage and step-free wet areas. Turn on the overlays above to see where each one lands.
What stays
The bones of the house
No knockdown, no extension. The triple garage becomes one accessible bay, one van bay and a secure store. The alfresco becomes the link to a sensory garden, and the double-height void over the living room is kept — it is what makes the house feel like a home rather than a facility.

Every overlay on the model maps to a clause we build to — the 1500 mm turning circles, the ceiling-hoist runs, the nurse-call pull cords. If you are a support coordinator writing a report, or a family weighing up whether this house suits your person, the model is the fastest way to see whether it works.
